I have been a player, an envoy, an ambassador, and your unboxing guy for the better part of two decades and I have witnessed the incredible spirit this community possesses. I have been a part of this incredible community since the day the game released. The HDSA motto is “Family is Everything” and now I turn to you, my HeroClix family, for help. There are approximately 41,000 symptomatic Americans battling HD (including my own mother-in-law), and over 200,000 Americans who are gene-positive (like my own wife) or at-risk of being HD positive.Īs you can see this is personal for me. It is called the “quintessential family disease” as every child of an HD positive parent has a 50/50 shot of inheriting this destructive disease. Now, what is Huntington’s Disease and why is it worth battling for a cure? HD is a genetic neurodegenerative disease often referred to as having ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s all rolled into one.
